Listening to someone who doesn't know how to play the violin is incredibly unpleasant, amirite?

I play the violin. I'm also not very good at it... so yeah nobody wants to hear it :3

Aw, you're so nice. I've been playing for about 5 years now... I'm still terrible :) I REALLY want to play the bass guitar, though.

Maybe violin just isn't your instrument? When I was in middle school, I joined the band and started with saxophone. I just couldn't make it sound good no matter how much I practiced, so I switched to the clarinet and did just fine with it! By the way, I have a nice bass I'm selling if you're interested haha :)

It's only unpleasant if they are actually trying to play the violin. If they are just talking it's usually not bad listening to them.

My mom, who knows nothing about violin, for some reason tried to show me the "right way" to play my piece, and the sound that came out of it was horrendous.
