+114 You're glad we don't live in Ancient Greece, because "Oh my Zeus!" just doesn't sound as good as "Oh my God!", amirite?

Oh me ZEUS, however...

Hmm, when I commented on this, the post had spelled Zeus as Zues. Guess some of the mods edited it or something.

It sounds so cool the way it'd be said in Greek

I like the sound of "Oh my Zeus."

Or we could just not use the Lord's name in vain...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You could say "Oh my gods!" like the kids in those Rick Riordan books!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Zeus is a god.....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes...that's the point of the post...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ohhh.... really?! Sorry, exams make me slow-witted

I wish we lived in ancient Rome.... oh, my Jupiter!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In ancient times it was actually exclaimed as: By Jupiter. Not: Oh my Jupiter. But anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, I know. however, that doesn't fit the post.

Something I didn't think of when I first commented, the ancient Greeks worshipped more than one god. Therefore, you could use the saying that Kratos (character in a game taking place in Ancient Greece) used. "By the Gods" Now, that sounds better then "Oh my God", in my opinion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i think oh my zeus sounds better

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh my Zeus how they mock your name...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why would something foreign sound as good as something incredibly common and frequently used?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Neither sound good, they're both blasphemy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh my Poseidon! No one cares about the other Greek gods.
