+105 Kitchen technology hovers on the line of convenience and laziness. Some electric things are cool, like electric mixers and electric cheese graters, but an electric can opener goes too far, amirite?

or that thing on infomercials that cracks your eggs for you.

my grandma has really bad arthritis in her knuckles, and can't use a manual can opener.

I disagree about the can opener, but that's mostly because all the can openers I've ever experienced will just kill my fingers/thumbs to death, and barely work at all. Also, wouldn't one of those electric/magnetic ones be less dangerous, 'cause you don't have to touch the sharp bits of the lid? An automatically opening fridge or something, *that* would be going too far. :P

wtf an electric cheese grater is more pathetic than an electric can opener

Electric can openers are not too far. I've tried ever since I was little, but I can't for the life of me open a can with a manual can opener. I've always grated my own cheese though, I don't see why you'd need an electric one of those.
