+572 Parents have no right to hate their children for being gay, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's not like there's a law that says "Parents can't hate their children for being gay". It's their choice whether to love or hate, just like it's their child's choice whether to be gay or straight

gay/straight isn't a choice

I pointed out I'm a troll in my fcking username, why do you people STILL allow yourselves to become provoked?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Certainly not if they want to be considered a decent parent.

It's a choice just as much as being gay is. They have the right to make the choice. However, being angry instead of supportive or helpful wouldn't be as good for the kid.

Having some problems, sir?

They most certainly do have the right to, you are entitled to your opinion and feelings, but having the right to do something doesn't mean it is right.

A bill was just passed in the Tennessee state senate making it illegal for public school teachers of grades K-8 to mention anything related to homosexuality. I am so pissed off at my state.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because it isn't as oppressive?

(Chauncy Pickles): No, I live in Tennessee.

technically they do. It's not ok at all but literally speaking yes they do

Let people do what they want to do, haters gonna hate. No one can dictate the human mind or what goes on in the privacy of peoples' lives and homes. Just be happy if they understand and be strong if they don't.

I know someone whose parents want nothing to do with him after he told them he's gay. It's stupid when someone has a good relationship with their parents, then they come out and their parents disown them. It's the same person, they're still your child and you loved them the day before. Who cares whether they like men or women?

Well I wouldn't say they have the right. They shouldn't and still be considered a just person, but they have the "right" to hate whoever for whatever-- as long as they don't try to dictate the hate-ee's life.

I wouldn't say they dont*
