+221 When you were little, you would follow recipes EXACTLY when baking, because your parents said if you didn't it would turn out terrible. Now you just guesstimate on the measurements and put in shit that sounds appetizing. amirite?

I do that when I'm making microwave Mac and Cheese - I put less water in so the taste is stronger, and more butter so it's saltier/creamier.

It depends on what I'm making. For the most part, I'll follow the recipe about halfway and just wing the rest, but if I'm baking cookies or some other sort of desert, I usually follow the recipe exactly so I don't mes things up - Knowing me, I'd end up using baking soda instead of powder, too much flour and not enough sugar.

I use exact measurements but I add other things that sound good. But only if I've made that recipe before.
