Actually, studies performed recently state that the appendix maintains bacteria that supports the functionality of the colon.

Almost? Did you seriously just suggest that there's a part of the body that doesn't serve any purpose?

Fail. Do your homework. I thought everyone knew this by now.

It's not exactly a fail if it's a common misconception... I could have easily read this article (http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/factfiles/appendix/appendix.shtml) which presumes that the appendix has no purpose. Furthermore, the appendix in humans is scientifically considered a vestigial structure, meaning it has lost most, if not all, of its ancestral function. Despite the experimental research you have linked me to, the status of the appendix is still that of a vestigial structure, proving this to be more of a fail on your part than mine. Maybe you should do your homework.
