+477 You are more inclined to give money to the hobo with the cute little doggie than the one sipping his beer, amirite?

Not gonna lie, if the hobo tells me that he wants some change to get a beer, his honesty won him my change.

I saw a "hobo" in france who saw people coming, so he took his shoes and coat off, blew out his cigar and put it with like 200 others in his coat, and hid everything behind him, just to get some extra coins.

...I'd give him money either way.

Absolutely. Strangers shouldn't be fuelling poor people's alcohol addictions. I prefer animals to people most of the time and favour animal charities, so I'd definitely give money or food to someone who clearly takes care of their dog even though they don't have much. It shows they're a good person. There was a homeless guy who would stand at this one corner by a busy shopping centre every day. He'd stand there with his dog, a border collie named Bobby, and when people would give him food, he'd give Bobby some before he had any. When he died, Bobby was taken to an animal shelter. There was an article on the front page of the newspaper about his death and Bobby's need for adoption. Because everyone knew him, there were hundreds of offers to adopt Bobby and he found a good home.
