+728 No matter what religion, race, or sexuality, it doesn't even matter if you're athiest, PRAY FOR JAPAN. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Japan has my sympathy and I will send my best wishes but because I don't believe in prayer, it would be a very insincere and insulting gesture if I did that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i think the real tragedy here is that all of the precious etch a sketch drawings have been destroyed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea I'll keep them in my thoughts and I've already sent donation money through the texting thing they set up. But I will not pray, for it is a meaningless gesture and does absolutely nothing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i understand completely but i just meant keep them in your thoughts and sympathize

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No need to be insulting about it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Instead of wasting our time praying, let's go out and do something to actually help those poor people

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most of us cannot fly all the way to Japan.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's called a donation.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some people have no money

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you had no money, you wouldn't be on a computer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not talking about myself dumbass. I"m talking about other people that may not have any money and really can't do anything else but pray or keep them in their thougths

by Anonymous 13 years ago

if people want to pray then let them pray. It's not doing any harm to anyone. In fact it shows that people care.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But what use is that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

More useful than your post.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wait, why would your sexuality matter?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bisexuals hate praying. Duh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ah, i forgot about that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Instead of pray how about sending good thoughts and hope everyone will be ok?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i like that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Praying IS a religious act. Keeping them in our hearts and hoping they're OK isn't necessarily religious. Don't ask atheists to pray. I understand what you mean, but maybe 'keep them in your thoughts' might be better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

On the contrary, those who don't believe in prayer shouldn't. I mean, if they gave up their religion and prayed every time disaster struck, why have a religion in the first place? That goes for just about any religion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How about I just hope for Japan?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, it doesn't matter if you believe prayer or not, just show that you care.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wonder if Takeo is alive

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you mean Tokyo? And, sorry to break it to you, but Tokyo is not alive. A city cannot be living.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He was referring to the Japanese character in Call of Duty's Nazi Zombie game. Richtofen is also a character

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Donating doesn't hurt either.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Uhh... There's a reason atheists are atheists. And I don't think being gay, lesbian, or black hinders one's praying abilities..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Athiests AATTTAAACCCKKKKK

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First of all, what does sexuality have to do with it all? And secondly, I am an atheist, and no, I am not going to pray for Japan. I will donate for Japan, I will convince people to donate for Japan and maybe I will also get involved with my college initiative to help Japan. But I do not pray.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe praying is symbolic in this sense. But yeah, it also helps for people there or people who know people there to know that other people are worried for them as well. I mean, it's not as if praying would do any harm, so why not? I wonder if they're gonna have another telethon like they did for Haiti. And if Beyonce's gonna be there singing Halo again. That's my prediction, really. I can already picture the lyrics. ugh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Praying is for people too scared to look up. It’s a waist of time that could be spent doing something productive to help. I would rather kill myself then pray

by Anonymous 13 years ago

please do

by Anonymous 13 years ago

something productive like learning the difference between waist and waste?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fuck that, donate time, money, resources, anything you can to help these poor people! You want something to happen, you MAKE it happen. Christian or Athiest, prayers aren't going to make food, water and shelter drop out of the sky!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Believing in The Conch did.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't have anything against religion, and if you believe that prayer will work than feel free to do it. But why in the world would an ATHEIST pray? I'd much rather do something that I believe will help instead of praying to a figure that I do not believe in.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do race and sexuality have to do with Japan?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think all of the commenters have put waaayyy too much though into this.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm atheist, I don't pray. But I knew what you meant and i'm sure the rest of them knew also & they just wanted to be assholes about it and get all defensive for no reason. Some people are so stupid to waste time arguing, when it's pretty clear this post was nothing but good intentions.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, I don't wanna be rude. But telling athiests to pray is the stupidest thing ever...
