+418 A dad is a man who can reach into their wallet and give their kids money for whatever they want. A father is a man who has pictures in his wallet where the money once was, amirite?

I think it should be the other way around.

I'd say 'Dad' is the name given to the male parent by society, but a father is a much closer relationship. But each to their own, I suppose. :o

Oh, I always thought of as a father as just being a man with a child and a dad is someone who has a relationship with their kid(s).

I thought of it the other way around, personally. :o But I see where you're coming from.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think of it this way as well.

I have to disagree with that. On official documents when it asks for your parents names it says 'father' or 'mother'. But dad and mom are names we use to call our parents. It's more personal. No one really calls their parents father or mother anymore. The idea of the post is good though, but it probably should've been the other way.

I call my mom mother. Usually not when I am addressing her directly but when I am talking about her.

(Bill Gates's son): Boom! Take that prick.

(Bill Gate's son): It's funny you should say that when he's leaving all his money to charity. wary

Yeah Ive always thought of "dad" as being more of a relationship parent. I know this saying that goes "Anyone can be a father but it takes a real man to be a dad." But Its not a big deal.

i like this. But i agree with everyone else, it should be the other way around.
