When it's stealing from the artist.

piracy used to be killing people, stealing treasure and things like that, now it's stealing music or movies.

When I looked up piracy it only mentioned copyright infringement, but when I looked up pirates it said people who commit crimes on the high seas which is unfortunate because otherwise you could've called yourself a pirate.

When governments decided to be anal and blind to the fame it gets the artist. I can almost guarantee you that most artists wouldn't be half as famous now without free music. THe fame leads to concert tickets, which make way more money than albums.

But the record labels and producers benifit from album sales. So they send their lobbyist to get these laws passed, so that they can benifit from us not stealing the music and films

So we're not stealing from the artist. We're stealing from the record companies who buy from the artist. We're not killing the music industry, we're killing the people who indirectly make money from the music industry. The artist made the stuff, and he's benefiting from piracy. That's why there isn't a mass protest of all the musicians against piracy.
