And then it's awkward because someone tries to pick it up for you when you had full intentions on picking it up. It just makes you seem lazy because you sat there staring at it like an idiot instead of just picking it up yourself. ... I drop things a lot...

I stare at it in frustration, but then pick it up. I don't wish for the last part though.

...and then it actually does fly magically back into your hand, making you think even for a moment that you might actually be special. That you might actually be significant in one way... You wake up the next day with a horrible migraine while NPR runs on the radio. From what you can tell, they are discussing the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. You squint your eyes until they adjust to the light shining from the window. It's 11:03 AM. You wonder why you've woken up so late... Then you recall last night. Your boss is the world's biggest tool. You do what is required of you, and he takes advantage of that because he knows you need the money. Your landlord came in that morning demanding last week's rent, and all my coworkers were there to bear witness. Never have you been so embarrassed. Your boss adds insult to injury by insisting you finish the paperwork the higher-ups assigned him weeks ago. That was the last straw... I forgot where I was going with this...
