+908 On book covers, the author's name should not be bigger than the title, amirite?

*picks up book* Hmmmm....the book is called Judy Smith. Lets see who it's written by.......Fallen Ang.....what the hell?

More people pick up books because they see an auther they like as opposed to recognizing the title. This is especially essential for authors like barbra kingsolver or micheal crichton who have written more than 50 books. You should be choosing a book because you like the auther, not because the you like the name.

Y@1140698 (boored2tears): yeah but if you are looking for a specific title it's going to be much easier to find it if its bigger than the author. BTW very clever post y

In most libraries and book stores, books are arranged by the author's last name therefore whilst looking for a book title you would have to know the author's last name and look for it.

(boored2tears):Touché (I think that's how you spell it)

My opinion will probably change if I ever get published.

Especially if the title of the book is a name...

I remember I was reading a book by Jerry Spinelli called "Eggs". But the cover didn't actually **say** "Eggs", it just showed a carton of eggs. So everybody thought I was reading a book called "Jerry Spinelli". ...True story.

Ooh, I read that book! It's been a while, but I remember the cover of it quite clearly because when I was reading it, a friend of mine snatched it out of my hands at lunch one day, read the back and, when she gave it back to me, said, "I thought you were reading a cookbook and wondered what could be so interesting about it that you would ignore the food sitting right in front of you to read about food you have to cook yourself." It was really weird. And it's not a "cartoon," it's just a picture of six eggs in one of those container thingys from above. At the time, I thought it was clever how he used a picture of eggs instead of the word to show the title, but I was thirteen at the time and, really, what do 13-year-olds know? Anyway, it was a pretty decent book. It might have been better than I'm remembering, though; it's been YEARS since I read it... Damn, now I wanna re-read it. What did you think of it?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I thought it was pretty good too, but it could have been better in terms of plot and storyline. Also, I said a carton, not a cartoon.

I remember seeing that book at a book fair. I stared at the cover for a really long time trying to figure out what it was called.

Lol, sorry, I read that wrong. I'm off from school and everything today so my brain just totally checked out on me. I went back and re-read your original comment, though, and saw that you indeed said carton; so my mistake.
