Or, it's being realistic and realizing that people will be in danger regardless, and wanting to do as much as they can to prevent it.

Yes! This means wanting to help someone with any particular problem means WANTING them to be in that problem. This means that all life guards doctors, psychiatrists, police officers, fire fighters and the like should stop being so selfish and stop what they're doing right this second! If they don't, it only means they're awful people who WANT people to drown, get terminal illnesses, be murdered and burn to death! AWESOME FLAWLESS LOGIC FTW!

Sorry for the late reply but I think you mean that they wish to PROTECT others from danger. Wanting to SAVE others is different. I think.
