Freshly tightened braces is one of the most painful things ever. Amirite?

Worse than giving birth or getting kicked the balls?

It's painful, but I can think of a few more things that are way worse. Getting them taken off is worse, actually, and I still wouldn't consider that "one of the most painful things ever."

Yeah. They scratch your teeth all to hell and then they hurt forever after and they're loose and stuff. It sucks.

Well, i had my appendix out, and they made the incision directly over scar tissue from an operation i had as a baby. They had to give me 4 shots of morphine to numb me up enough after they woke me up a day later. But yeah, braces are right up there.

I just got through 2.5 years of braces. Getting them tightened barely hurts at all.

especially when they have the wire AND that tight rubber band thing that they twist between each tooth. then they pull out that tool, stick it in and crank it until i weep painfully, that's when they know it's tight enough.

it's the worst when they loop steel wires around the brackets and THEN put on the rubber chains AND expect you to wear rubber bands too.

Ack, when I had braces and they were tightened, I would stay up all night in pain. Thank god that's over.

after i got my braces tightened it was a race against time to eat as much solid food as possible before my teeth got sore.

It kinda depends if your orthodontist is feeling evil that day or not. Sometimes, they were all "meh, we'll go easy on you" but others it seemed as if their only goal in life was to torment my mouth.

you know youre right. i got my arm bit off by a shark and when i got out of the water i got hit by a train, stapled in the eye, and had my testicals beaten until they fell off. but all i could think was "well at least i didnt get my braces tightened."

Braces are by far the worst physical pain i've experienced in my 22 years of life so far! Yesterday i had them tightened, they put the rubber loops around each tooth at the top (front 6) to stop any gaps AND the bottom and also expect me to wear the elastic bands. One word - AGONY!!!!!
