Advertising & Vevo: Keeping Youtube free.

Advertising & Vevo: Not what this post is talking about.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Vevo puts a lot of those restrictions on the songs. They hold the music rights on Youtube. And advertisments, I thought I'd throw that in for the hell of it, because everyone complains.

People need to stop complaining about the adds. It sounds really snobbish, ungrateful, and childish when you can't simply wait 30 seconds for your video to start. What were you gonna do with those extra 30 seconds? If you were in so much of a rush, you shouldn't be on Youtube anyways. As for the videos they take down, sites like that DO have regulations, and since youtube is getting more and more popular, they have to follow them more closely. Chill out. You're getting free entertainment at the tips of your fingers. Its ridiculous that THIS is what you're having a fit over, when the economy is going down the drain and the earth is dying. Good thing to know all you "Yeah You Are's" have your priorities straight. *prepares for down votes*

I completely agree with you. Don't get me wrong it's not like I like the ads, but at the same time if it keeps Youtube free then I'm fine with it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly! And the "repost this" "remember when Youtube was blah-de-blah" on every video is more annoying than the adds.

I know! Haha. Honestly, I just try not to read the comments. Most of them are from uneducated 12 year olds.

Please show me where I was talking about ads.

Thats why I also addressed the other point. The one you were actually making. But my thoughts on both adds and copyright remain the same. Stop worrying about the crap that doesn't matter, is what I'm trying to get across.

Technically, wouldn't it be putting MORE you into Youtube? Since, yanno, you can't take other people's material, therefore having to create your own...

But they delete your videos if it contains anything created by someone else. Take music videos for instance. The only music videos allowed on Youtube are the Vevo ones that Youtube creates. So in that case it isn't really YOUtube it's Vevotube.
