+258 Saying you have OCD about something just because you like it to be a certain way is like saying you're quadriplegic about something just because you don't move around a lot when doing it, amirite?

Yeah, I actually have medically diagnosed OCD and when people throw it around like that it kind of makes me feel bad that something that seriously affects my life is seen as nothing.

This. Also with the "I have a lot of energy/don't like to concentrate therefore I have ADD" thing. They are both real conditions, but they're not based on character traits - OCD and ADD are real problems that impact on a person's life, and need a doctor's diagnose, and hopefully some sort of treatment.

Yes, the behavior must be deviant, distressful, and dysfunctional in order to be diagnosed as real condition. This lesson brought to you be Psych 101.

Yes. There's a difference between being organized and OCD.

"Do you wanna go for a run?" "Na, I'm real quadriplegic about running"

Would it be more politically correct to say "I keep my desk clean all the time. I'm OC like that"?

So freakin' true! I've been saying this for years, but I haven't found a way as good as this to phrase it. Well done!
