+462 You wonder how the Obamas feel about not getting invited to the royal wedding, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Relieved. They wouldn't have gone anyway - he was in Alabama.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Australia's Prime Minister, Gillard, got slammed by the papers for going to the wedding when she should have been dealing with shit here, but it's "damned if she does, damned if she doesn't" sitch - since we're still under the crown, her not showing up would have been seen as Australia going "fuck you" to the royal family.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The Canadian Pm refused to go to the wedding because of his election campaign so it's not really a "'damned if she does, damned if she doesn't' sitch".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

IDK much about Canadian media, but Australian ones would have been at the PM for weeks if she refused to go. At the moment they're at her because she did decide to go.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

pissed off, the royal wedding was perfect

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And wait for it- KANYE WEST DID!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

HE GOT INVITED?! That's fucked. He should have given his invitation to Taylor Swift as a "sorry"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I wanted to punch someone in the face.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hell, I wanted to knee him in the "Down Below Regions"... but since he doesn't have any ... hating on him on Amirite was the next best thing

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think maybe the royal family wasn't quite over the American Revolution...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe he was, but he was planning the whole Bin Laden thing...?

Aren't we rushing into things a bit? I mean we just met...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Good one?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

NO! I KNOW IT IN MY HEART, WE ARE SOULMATES.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Seems to me he was a little busy over the weekend...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nein.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Does anyone else think it's weird that they're called the Obamas? Cause.. the president is like OBAMA; you think of him as Obama, not an Obama Just thought it was funny

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nah, when you refer to a family alot of the time you'd say it like that. The smiths, for example.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know, but I'm sure the dad wouldn't be referred to as Smith.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He was busy being badass and killing Osama

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm happy Osama's gone, but last time I checked, it was the navy seals who killed him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

True, but he's the one who sent them there in the first place. The SEALs do deserve credit for the kill. I respect the hell out of SEALs in general.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Actually, they did it for security reasons. You saw how much security they needed for the couple, imagine how much more they would need if Obama went. They probably would have had to shut down the country. He understood.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Quite frankly, fuustoleit, I don't give a damn.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm so used to "Obama" beeing the name of a person, that when OP said "Obamas", I thought she meant plural presidents..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Obama doesn't like Great Britain, so it's okay.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well it wasn't a state event..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He probably felt the same way I did for not being invited. >:(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He did buy the Queen a iPod with all of his speeches as a present. Not sure how she is supposed to take that...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's such an egotistical gift...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It could have been worse. It could have been an autographed picture of himself. I don't approve of the iPod though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, it's basically the same thing, only the iPod is more pricey, and therefore looks more thoughtful. But it gives off the same vibe

by Anonymous 12 years ago

iPods aren't that expensive. $300? Pricey, but for the U.S. president, at least an iPad/Mac. And maybe a little more humble contents.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes. But all I meant was pricier than a signed photo.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Where did you hear that? I knew Obama gave the Queen an iPod, but I thought it was filled of various videos and photos of HER, not Obama...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They were pictures of her, some songs, and some clips of Obama's inauguration and some speech of his from 2004. So it wasn't all his speeches, but still including them there was a little egotistical.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Pretty much what she said. Its kinda like "Here are some amazing pictures of you, and by the way, here is me! I'm awesome."
