+235 Eveyone's saying how Osama Bin Laden stole the fame from the Royal Wedding. What about Pope John Paul II? He was just beatified not much earlier. HIS fame was stolen too. amirite?

Beatified? Someone mind explaining?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's the step before canonization (sainthood).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ohhh, alright. I thought he was mugged or something.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He died 6 years ago, but at least you were close! y

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait, he's dead and he's still getting awards and stuff? Shit, I've been alive for 17 years and I can't even make high honor roll.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's been a busy weekend.

in my opinion (seeing as i am American and all) Osama's capture and death was waaaaaay more important than the royal wedding.

Blessed Pope John Paul II was one of the best pope's we have ever had if you knew what his childhood was like it is amazing how loving he was. He spent a little bit of time in Auchwitz, yes, the Nazi concentration camp. I was so excited to see it on the front page of the newspaper and on the news but that didn't happen, Blessed Pope John Paul II deserves more recognition

well not all of us are religious and therefore don't care much about it. honestly, if his was the only news, i still wouldn't care about it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You may not care, but the world is not around your opinion. Think about it, about 1 in 6 people cared. That may not sound like a lot but that is the largest religion in the world.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You may care, but the world is not around your opinion. Think about it, about 5 in 6 people didn't care.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

touche.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i never said that my opinion was the only one. by your statistic there, 83% of the world doesn't care. if you want it to be important, by all means, go make it important, but don't be shocked when 5/6 of the world lets the beatification of a pope be overshadowed by the death of the most wanted man in the world.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I am not shocked(by the overshadowing part.) I just wish that people would not spend their time rejoicing over the death of a person.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

that's understandable, and i do feel weird for being happy that he is dead, but then i think about the thousands of people that he is responsible for the deaths of. he got what was coming to him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know he deserved it, but I sjust still don't like rejoicing because a man died. I don't think it matters what he had done.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm sure Obama didn't plan it this way...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

fuck the pope
