+394 With as many "artistic" liberties Disney has taken with making fairy tales into cartoons, you find it a bit odd that the one constant that seems to remain is that so many girls find true love at 16, amirite?

It's an age that's not too young to be ridiculous, or too old for kids to be unable to relate to.

Yeah, I understand that line of thinking but honestly I just don't really buy it. Not a single Disney princess in my opinion looks or acts sixteen (with the exception of Ariel, she always seemed very young to me.) I could very well be wrong, but I really don't believe adding years to their age would really have hurt the demographic at all.

I'm 16. But I'm a guy. What are my requirements to fall in love?

My parents met and fell in love at 15/16. They were married for 44yrs until my dad passed. I don't believe that there are requirements to fall in love at //any// age. But I just think it's a bit ridiculous to put into little girls heads that marriage at sixteen is normal, or even desirable really. That's what I meant by putting "true love" in my post, but I suppose in hindsight it wasn't really clear that I meant marriage.

Only like 3 of the princesses are confirmed as 16 years old.

It's still a strange trend, and it's fairly obvious the other princesses are of similar age.

Rapunzel is 18 and she didn't even get married for a while.
