+293 There's no good or bad taste in music, only informed taste vs uninformed. People with elitist taste in music usually spend more time listening to and analyzing music than people who are satisfied with the newest single from Lady Gaga or Ke$ha. Since your taste in music doesn't describe one's entire personality, you shouldn't make judgments or assign value to people's tastes. amirite?

No way. All Justin Bieber fans are degenerates.

With music videos like Gaga's, I think a lot of her fans spend time analyzing her music.

I think as well as people making judgements about music that isn't mainstream, people also make judgements about music that is mainstream. For example, Lady Gaga is a VERY talented singer and pianist, but because she's a mainstream and pop artist, some people assume that her music has no depth.

Oh, I was just saying that people who usually listen to mainstream music--regardless of the quality of that music--usually don't spend as much time developing their music libraries as people who listen to less popular music. I wasn't making a quality judgment on any music.

A lot of what becomes popular mainstream music in recent days is Techno/Pop/Dance/Fake Hip-Hip (you know the type). Even if you love the song, it'll get over-played and people realize how shallow it was to begin with, as apposed to songs and albums that get better with age and grow on you with each listen. What I'm saying is... some songs aren't meant to be analyzed.
