+323 Despite Oregon and Washington and their coolness, when someone talks about the west coast of the United States they usually mean California, amirite?

Yeah, what's up with that? Just cause it rains here doesn't mean we don't exist!

I'm so happy that someone on the internet actually called oregon cool. people think we're lame because we get rained on. thank you for proving to me that humanity is still out there.

@1310040 (Amish_Llama): I think it's because those two states don't have Hollywood/any drama people overlook them.

Exactly! We don't have very much drama, but we have some pretty cool stuff, especially if you're into nature.

Which I am. But I can't stand the snow

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We usually don't get much snow where I live (Willamette Valley) except for the ice storm of '09. But that's a story for another day...

Usually when people mean California, they'll say "California". And usually when people say "the west coast" they mean the whole west coast.

(Your+name+(optional)): When I tell people at work (over the phone, and they could be anywhere in the U.S.) I say I'm on the West Coast. The only response I've ever gotten is, "you mean California?"

Oregon and Washington are cool?

I take it you've never heard of Seattle.
