Uh...no. Femmanists are those that wish to empower women and gain both respect and equality from men. They are proud to be women, and I am sure some very pretty women fit into this category like some celebrities. Some men support femminism, and they could very well be married.

We may be equal on paper (though there is no equal rights amendment), but many women feel they have not gained social equality. Blacks and whites have the same rights, but racism is still alive just as sexism is. Even though it is illegal, job discrimination still occurs. Women working in the same positions as men still make less and are less likely to move up in the ranks to become CEO for example, hence the idea of a glass ceiling. What is wrong with wanting more equality? If there is more to gain than things must not be completely equal yet.

A woman was being obnoxious and a man politely asked her to stop(this was caught on camera). She went to the local guard and told him he was trying to rape her. Hes was badly beaten n sent to jail for 5 days before they reviewed the tape, n found out she was lying. She had to pay him $300. that's it You have lots of power. So cut the crap

Women still make less than men even if they hold the same position. That's inequality if you ask me. Feminists may not have as much to fight for today because women's rights have come along way...A black and white man have the same rights, but it doesnt't mean that racism doesnt't exist. Same goes for sexism.

Feminists are not advocating the kind of criminal power that woman used over that man. They'd probably think she gave women a bad name. Power does not equate to equality. If a man and a woman apply to become CEO and are both equally qualified, who do you think will get the position most of the time?

Feminist are fighting for -Women's rights all over the world, not just in America and Europe. You didn't really think women achieved equal rights in Afghanistan and Southern Africa now did you? -Women's health in general -Women's education (globally, women are less likely to be able to read and are less likely to attend school) -less sexist portrayal of women and men and oppressive gender roles -Women's sports (maybe a lost cause) -less rape and sexual harrassment -less blaming women for being raped because they were wearing slutty clothing -less unfair restrictions on reproductive rights from abortions to forced C-sections to the right to breast feed a baby without getting sued for nudity -reducing the wage gap and the glass ceiling (they still do exist) -Men's rights (because stupid gender roles hurt everyone) - Rights for homosexuals (we are both fighting against the same stupid ideas about traditional sexuality -other stuff (I ran out of space in my comment)

My friend in India told me, in their Subway, there are compartments reserved for women, n the women sit in the rest of the train even when there r empty seats in those places forcing guys to stand. ^ All of the above bitching about how women are already equal: wow, open your eyes to the world, please and thank you. In some places, even developed countries, women are still paid less, do not have the same career opportunities, not to mention harassed. In underdeveloped countries they have very little rights. All of the fuckheads who are saying women have rights, don't forget about the ones who DON'T. Just because you live where there are rights for women doesn't mean fighting for rights in places that don't no longer has importance. Your qualms are not with feminists, they are with those that are really preaching for a matriarchal society.

Yeah, there are still places where a woman will have her vagina cut up for her husband in such a way to make sex better for him. Some places where little girls are forced into marriages with old men for the sake of making babies. Places where it is totally normal to beat your wife to a pulp for not making your dinner right. It's easy enough to say that the western world is fine, but not the whole world.

If a man harasses a woman, there are huge fines n penalties. As for rape, there is sodomy as well, so if your fighting for rape, fight for everyone. There are places where men are paid less, black people are paid less, asian ou can find anything if u look for it

being feminist isnt all about rejecting men and marriage and burning your bras and shit. it's just about being seen as equals in the eyes of society and of the law. some women get carried away with it (i think) but all feminists are not like that. if not for feminists (who, even in the twenties and thirties were stereotyped as basically evil dykes who didnt deserve to vote etc) then we women of today couldnt enjoy many of the rights that we do.
