It's weird to think that English could be thought of as an ancient language in the future, amirite?

English wouldn't be taught as an ancient language if it is still used as a spoken language. Our English could be taught as an ancient dialect, not unlike Old English, or Olde English I guess...

I understand, but if English is still used, it wouldn't be considered an ancient language because the language would still be in use, or it at least wouldn't be considered an obsolete, decrepit* language. *By saying obsolete and decrepit, I do not mean to mimimalize the significance ancient languages had in shaping our modern languages.

Given that that is the case, I guess I could agree.

(Chauncy Pickles): shut. up. youre annoying. and quit trying to nitpick the post in attempt to sound "smart" im sure you perfectly well understood what it was saying. BTW: it says "thought" not "taught", so um, it didnt say anything about "teaching" it or even "using" it.

I didn't notice that the post didn't say "taught", but I think all my comments (except maybe the one aboot not putting something in the post) are well-founded. I don't see my comments as nitpicky. I am making a very valid point, but if you feel otherwise, then so be it. I don't see the point in arguing with an anonymous user. When speaking with the anonymous, I have taken up this rule of thumb: a) Every anonymous user is the same, or b) Every anonymous user is different. If you are the same, I don't see the point in engaging in a lost argument because I couldn't change your mind before this point, so I won't be able to now. If you are different from the last anon, then you wouldn't even know just how annoying I am, unless you mean to say every anonymous user on amirite hates me. If that is the case, thank you for inflating my ego. <(")

It might not completely die, but more than likely english sentences will be formed differently, and the language will transform.
