-122 "He killed himself, isn't that so sad?" So you're saying he willing took his own life, by his hand and only his, when he clearly wanted death, and I should feel sorry for him? amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I agree with this partially, the sad part would be how fucked up their lives had to have been for them to kill themselves.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Same, I dont feel sorry for the death, but the mess of a life they had to live to get into that state.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Uh, yeah, I can't think of many other people I'd feel sorrier for.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Their life was obviously awful and depressing, so,uh, yeah I would feel extremely sorry for them to hate their life so much that they'd kill themself.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, if they wanted death than we shouldint feel sorry for them after they get what they want.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Feel sorry for the people they leave behind

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who said I didn't? I'm just talking about the suicide.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"He killed himself, isn't that so sad?" - That's implying the whole situation is sad, which it is. And, whether you feel sympathy or not, the fact that someone was so unhappy with their life that they would kill themselves is a very sad thing - both for the individual involved, and everyone else that suicide effected.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Preach it brotha. I don't see how anyone could decide they wouldn't care if someone they knew committed suicide. "Your older brother killled himself last night. I'm very sorry." "Sorry? SORRY? He obviously WANTED to die. Why are you SORRY?!" no

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It could be their way of coping with/denying the existence of the sadness they have over it. They might tell themselves that they have no reason to be sad about it in an attempt to rationalize away their feelings, so that they wouldn't feel anything negative, because maybe they're afraid to? ...And that's me over-analysing, but anyway. :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I feel sorry that they went through with killing themselves; if they hadn't killed themselves and instead got help then they would most likely get over it and live a full life.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When people say a death is sad, they mean they feel sorry for the people left behind, because they'd be sad that their son/brother/dad/friend/whatever relation is gone. In a sense, you're right that it doesn't make sense to feel sorry for someone who got what they wanted, death. But in a way, it does make sense to feel sorry for the dead person, because there's a chance that they didn't *truly* want death, they only thought they did, or they thought that they had no other choice. Or maybe they had a mental illness or something. Either way, it is sad, and the reason it makes sense to feel sorry for them in that circumstance is because they would have been suffering when they killed themselves, and they'd have done it because they were suffering so much.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's not what it means. I know multiple people have said this above, but I didn't scroll all the way down here for nothing: it's not like saying "He was killed, isn't that sad?" at all. It's not implying it was an accident and he still wanted to live. It's implying that his life was so awful he had to resort to something like suicide, it's implying that that one guy who was there for a couple decades is now gone forever and you'll never see him again. You shouldn't feel sorry that he's dead, you should feel sorry that he had to die.

A couple of decades isn't always the case... http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2001/jul/11/socialcare.mentalhealth

Should I be happy with the post being on the homepage, or dissapointed with the -79 (at the time of writing) score?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You clearly have no experience with suicide. This post is so ignorant I want to scream.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Then scream bitch, scream. You think I'll care? No. I will never care about what you do because we will never meet. So go ahead and scream and bawl and complain and bitch, but that won't change what I think.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

See, most people want to avoid being ignorant assholes, but as long as you're comfortable with it...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Fine by me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well....I've never dealt with suicide situations, but it seems to me that they don't really WANT death, you know? it's just that they dont know what to do anymore, so they're just sort of driven to find a solution, albeit a bad one. they aren't happy that their life sucks so much that they have to die, are they? theyre just so miserable in their current circumstances that they don't want to or can't deal with it, and they just want an escape. obviously they feel like nothing can help them anymore - even though there is always a better solution, at the point of deepest despair for someone, they aren't going to realize or believe that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I kind of get what you're saying, and there are exceptions. The people I express no sympathy for is those stupid nine year old kids who are like "nobody luvs me so now im going 2 cut myslf and thn evry1 will feel srry then =(((((((((" When some people are being tortured or something really horrible, then I would feel sorry for them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well, cutting is something different, but suicide because they were bullied/ridiculed/they just were in an absolutely awful situation when they were not an awful person really is sad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You can kill yourself by cutting yourself, but that's beside the point. And yeah, if they had nothing else to live for, it is kind of sad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Your a such dick he/she clear Had enough heartache in their life that led them to commit suicide so ya I would feel sorry for then go take your negativity somewhere else

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll take it to you then. Do I care what you think? No. Also, if they're to weak to survive in this world, I probably don't want them contributing to the gene pool or using the resources of Earth. (exceptions always, dipshits)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why would you feel sorry for them once they got what they wanted?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Cause they didn't want to something led themselves to that things were never good for them no one wants to be dead

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Please rephrase that in a readable format.
