+66 You like the whirring sound the computer makes when it's "thinking" amirite?

Well my computer must be a genius because it's always making that whirring sound. I'm so serious when I say I can hear it all the way from my room. It's so loud I never hear when my mom is calling me, I have to turn up the volume on my computer to ridiculous heights just to hear anything I play, and I can still hear it if I put in earplugs or cover my ears...it get's really annoying, especially when I have migraines.

I have the same problem with my laptop's fan. I'm pretty sure there are several live squirrels in there somehow.

The part of the computer you'd think of as "thinking" is the processor, which is just very fast and tiny electrical circuits that don't make a sound. The whirring noise is when a bunch of stuff gets read of a hard drive, if it's a magnetic one. Those are being replaced by solid-state drives now that don't make noise.

well technically, the sound from my computer comes from the fan so my computer doesn't overheat. The problem is without this obnoxiously loud fan, when my computer overheats, it just shuts down and sometimes it dies.
