OR....Israel should just GTFO.
Or we should go to what is now Israel and say, "Okay, Palestine let you play with his territory. Now we have to leave, so give it back to him."
(Chauncy Pickles): The US and Israel were both created by taking land away from natives. All that in is the past now, present day Israelis have the right to live there. I do see the muslims as the victims here and I understand their anger, but it doesnt mean Israel should cease to exist.
Israel was created in 1948 as a result of the Zionist movement being strengthened by WWII and the Holocaust. We have survivors of both still alive and many of the Palestinians who were displaced from their land are still alive. Therefore, it is not in the past. Btw, Muslims aren't victims. Palestinians are victims. Not all Palestinians are Muslim.
"it doesnt mean Israel should cease to exist." Well what about Palestine? Palestine has MORE of a right to exist.
Love how my comment was voted down. There are so many myths about the Palestine-Israel conflict that many American citizens believe due to the portrayal in the media.
While the WZO was around before WWII and there was some Jewish immigration to Palestine prior, the Holocaust certainly strengthed the movement. If you look at the numbers as the Nazi regime gained control and passed increasingly harsh legislation against Jews, you can see the increase in numbers. These numbers continued to grow through WWII and the Holocaust and some years after.
Here are some of the numbers:
1882 to 1903, approximately 25,000 Jews immigrated to Palestine
(1897 WZO founded)
1920 to 1948, before and after Hitler’s reign in Germany, the immigration increased by a tenfold from 61,000 to 610,000
1931- Palestine consisted of 175,000 Jews and 880,000 Arabs
1932- 12,000 Jews immigrated
(1933 Hitler becomes chancellor of Germany, first Nazi legislation passed)
1933- 37,000 Jews immigrated
(1934 Hitler becomes Fuhrer)
1934- 45,000 Jews immigrated
(1935 Nuremberg Laws- major anti-Jewish legislation)
1935- 66,000 Jews immigrated
1948- Israel founded and 80,000 more Jews immigrate
Well actually, before the Holocaust there was a place called Kene'en. It's bigger than Israel currently is. The Jews all lived there before WWII. Then, they had to leave and hide, because of the Nazi's. When they were hiding, the Palestines moved in to the recently vacated area. The Jews just wanted it back.
Who ever told you this story lied to you big time, and it's even sadder that you believed it so blindly seeing as none of what you said is historically true.
The land of Ken'an is where Moses was headed, it wasn't bigger it just had different borders than the current borders of the state of Israel. The Jews started leaving way before WWII, the Palestinians didn't happen to find an empty land and decided to move to it, they had been living there all along.
I suggest you do more reading and get set straight your false information. Even a most orthodox Jew would not agreed with any of what you said, it's not even in the same zip code as the truth.
Okay, I was wrong. But, where did the Jews live before WWII?
Various countries; just like Christians live in different countries so did Jews. I have many Israeli and Jewish friends who are originally from Ukraine and Russia and the US and other countries. Jews left their the land of Ken'an by choice, and I dare say that claiming that they need to go back to the promised land has ulterior motives that go beyond religion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the state of Israel should cease to exist, what I'm saying is that it can't exist on expense of the Palestinian state. Just like the Jews claim to have a right to live on these lands, the Palestinians have an equal right to live there as well, without having to be harassed by the Israeli government and the IDF, but to have a government of their own.
Or the the us schould just stop interfering with conflicts and wars between other people or countries; it's none of their business.
OR.... you should all stfu and stop backing up a country that doesnt even exist... i have visited israel and do agree that the soldiers are tough around the borders but they HAVE to protect their country .. its tiny and its the only place they have... they want peace ok? (i dont care how many dislikes this gets ... majority is never fair on the minority)
If Israel wants peace then why have they broken every single consecutive peace agreement? If Israel wants peace, why do they insist on aggravating the Palestinians to the point of death? If Israel wants peace, why won't THEY share? What about the Palestinians? Its the only place THEY have as well, and it's even tinier than Israel even though it was theirs first!
And if by protecting themselves it means torturing other countries and breaking international law and committing crimes against humanity, then perhaps they don't deserve to be protected.
By saying "a country that doesn't even exist" are you referring to Palestine? cause If you are, then perhaps you should do more reading. News flash buddy: It's an internationally recognized country.
Ya get the joke and see what happens.
Weird, it was Palestine that agreed with the UN borders of 1947, not Israel. There was around 40-50% Palestine and 50-60% Israel in that plan.
Besides, I don't see the 1947 borders in place anywhere, do you? I don't even see the 1967 borders! Bahah.
And most Americans wonder why some of the world dislikes the USA. Its posts like this that shows the attitude of some of the Americans; Poking their noses in other people's business.
What the fuck? First of all, I'm from the UK. Second of all, making a joke about the Israel-Palestine conflict isn't "poking my nose in other people's business". Thirdly, if you ACTUALLY think the post was serious, read this: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/joke.
Also, MILLIONS of people have their views on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Of course, judging by your logic, it's completely wrong that they do so, isn't it? It's "not their business" at all, is it? Stupid anonymous dick.
Its okay. I did your mom last night.
How do you know the OP is even from the USA?
My mistake :S I overlooked the fact that OP is from the UK. Sry..
Or you should all shut up.
