+388 Sure, atheists and Christians hold opposite and irreconcilable beliefs, but that doesn't mean we should act like enemies. We are all humans searching for very complicated truths, amirite?

Psshh, way to be diplomatic. I for one enjoy reading the debates.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm ok with intellectual debates, but treating each other as either stupid or immoral is wrong

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The interesting thing is that neither side will ever budge and everyone knows this. It's rather fun to see what people come up with in an attempt to make a lasting impression.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Some atheists arent searching for truths.. just living i guess

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Atheists are just Christians going through a phase. There is really no such thing as a true atheist. Everyone is born Christian but some people feel the need to rebel before they really admit they're Christian.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you really believe that? how on earth are you born Christian? If a baby comes out of the womb and is never indoctrinated, they probably won't believe in any religion as they grow up. Seems like an ignorant comment to me

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's true.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's maybe one of the most stupid things I've ever heard.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

GTFO. Everyone is sick of you

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I hardly think you're qualified to speak for everyone on the site.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I hardly think you're qualified to speak for everyone in the world. Everyone is NOT born Christian, there ARE real atheists.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There is no such thing as an atheist. An "atheist" is just someone going through a rebellious phase trying to show everyone how non-conformist they are.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Go to hell

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No. I am on the righteous path.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you are saying things like "everyone is born Christian" and that "there is no such thing as an atheist" I am actually questioning your beliefs as a Christian. Obviously there are such things as atheists, some people live not believing in God and some people die not believing in God. Once again, where does the Bible state that everyone is born Christian?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I love how it says Atheists and Christians. It's like Christianity is the only religion out there. What about Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, etc?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because Christianity and Atheists are generally known as the two "shove my beliefs down your throat" groups

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Those are all fake trendy religions.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I am a christian, and I'm offended by what you said. You sound ignorant and offensive. Think.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Then as a Christian, you should know that you are a follower of the one true religion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We should make an sex.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I agree that Christianity is the only true religion. (john 14:16) but saying that everyone is born Christian is ignorant. People are not born into a religion, that is why Jesus says what he does in John 3: 5-7. If we were born into a religion, there would be no reason to be baptized, there would be no reason to foster a relationship. I'm interested in how you believe people are born into Christianity, where does The Bible support this? Because I can find many biblical passages that support what Christians overwhelmingly believe, that we must come to Christ and experience spiritual rebirth.

Let's get something straigh, Buddhism is not I repeat, not a religion. In the doctrine of the the ideology it states that people under that "belief" do not believe in a God. Buddha was an atheist and didn't believe in any God. For the record I am a practicing Christian Baptist.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just because Buddha was atheist doesn't mean Buddhism isn't a religion, there are atheistic religions. Buddhism can be considered a religion or it can be considered a philosophy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There are actually two different forms of Buddhism. One is considered a religion where the followers worship Buddha as a god and the other is considered more of a philosophy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok! Thanks, I guess I've just discounted Buddhism as a religion because Buddha never made claims of deity. Good thing I haven't come in contact with any Buddhist because I would have only come off as arrogant, and insensitive. Thank you!

Anything that states the absence of omnipotent beings (ie being atheistic) in my mind is not a religion. It is a type of atheism which is an ideal. I am not trying to troll or be exclusive. I don't agree with Hinduism or Islam, but they believe that there is a deity that controls things. Atheism is an ideal and not a religion, so in my mind anything that is associated with an ideal that is not a religion, also cannot be a religion. Once again, I am not trying to be rude, or exclusive right now. I do apologize if I am coming off that way, but that's just because I have such a passion for things like this.

no matter how one-sided the voting is, any religion-related post on amirite will get a huge discussion. nice.
