u got ur facts wrong, hens don't have periods, but they do ovulate every day and that does not hurt, its the breaking down of the uterine lining during menstruation that hurts, and hens don't have uterus also so no pain.

u got ur spellin wrong

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's interesting that they can spell "menstruation" and "uterine" but not "you" or "your".

Technically the post didn't mention anything about pain. You don't have to have cramps for your period to be annoying as hell.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah they're annoying even without cramps but he was just pointing out that one of the biggest complaints about periods isn't present in chickens.

But imagine having a giant egg come out of you! So really you can say, Girls: Be thankful your eggs are tiny and not a chicken egg, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, okay, but a baby human is much bigger than a chicken egg. So, when baby time comes around, I think people would rather have the egg.

But hens have tiny vaginas

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I thought about explaining that the human cervix has to dilate to ten centimeters to allow a six to ten pound baby to come out. I thought about explaining that this takes hours. I thought about explaining that laying eggs does not hurt a chicken. I thought about comparing that to the pain of cramps and labor. But I can't tell if you're male or female, and I think that there's no point.

giant egg is no match for a giant baby coming out of you but then again, those eggs come out more for a single hen than babies for one female

So... much... punctuation....

I'd rather just plop out an egg everyday and get it over with then have to deal with fear of stains, cramps, having to head to the bathroom at the most inconvenient times, etc.

The only reason chickens ovulate almost every day is because they have been genetically manipulated (bred) to do so by farming practices. In natural circumstances they would only ovulate a few times a year, in the breeding season. Such genetic manipulation often leads to breeds also becoming prone to certain diseases.
