I agree but I think there are a lot of things parents do that they just don't think about and we'll probably do it too. Like embarrassing your teenagers... I'm convinced that it's payback for all the times we've embarrassed them when we were infants or something.

No, either way. Your kid will only ever be like him/herself, they can never be like someone else because they aren't that someone else. It's unfair to expect your kid to be like some other kid "if you just try".

That's what I'm saying... don't compare your kid to other kids, like if your kid says he can't do something then don't tell him "Everyone your age can do it, so why can't you?" because that makes you feel like shit.
