It's awkward when you try to rebel against the Fourth of July by wearing Britain's flag's colours instead of America's, amirite?

It's really awkward when every POTD this year has had the word "awkward" in it.

I avoid this by wearing France's flag's colors instead.

@Sun I avoid this by wearing France's flag's colors instead.

I prefer Russia's colors myself. Though Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia and even Iceland, also have lovely colors.

"FUCK AMERICA!!! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RED WHITE AND BLUE!!!"
"...Uh, what?"

Did this actually happen or is this hypothetical?

It's awkward when you see someone wearing a shirt with a British flag shirt on the Fourth of July and throw a cherry bomb at them.

Get off me you damn dirty kitten, Flipendo!

Anyone dumb enough to not to get this right away gets a little hint by the group pictures.

@Andy I don't get it.

If you're on the regular site, the thumbnails for the groups the post falls in are displayed directly below the post. So if you're an idiot and don't know what colors are on the British flag, then the handy little UK group under the post gives you a tiny peek.

Apparently its going to be a very awkward year...

You could also wear Cuba's colors. That would show 'em!

How's that awkward?

Anonymous +3Reply

This happened to me once. You wouldn't believe the glares I got at my towns Fourth of July firework show O.o

You're obviously British, because you spelled it "colours" instead of "colors"

@You're obviously British, because you spelled it "colours" instead of "colors"

you're obviously smart, because you 'noticed' the change in 'spelling'

I accidentally wore a Japan shirt this past 4th of July, and I didn't even realize it until the fireworks started xD

What's really awkward is how everything Americans celebrate with is made in another country.
"YAY, we're independent! Hey, can you make my clothes and my fireworks and my flags and my shoes and my hats and my toys and my balloons? I'm too independent to do things for myself. Except eat. I'm good at that."

Or is that irony?

I'm sorry, how does the fact that we buy things from other countries make the celebration of the day we gained political independence from Great Britain with said items awkward or ironic?

And nice job with the "Americans are fat" joke. You must've really dug deep for that one.
