I'm unsure about this because I think (not 100% sure this is right) but Grease was a movie then musical but it didn't get as much crap as HSM did? idunno. o.o

There's such a thing as "movie musicals," and I believe that's what High School Musical attempted to be. It just sucked, plain and simple.
