+147 It must be weird celebrating Christmas south of the equator, because it would be summer and pretty hot, which is the opposite of how it is north of the equator, amirite?

It's not weird for us, since it's been like that all our lives.

For someone who lived north of the equator their whole life, then moved to somewhere below the equator it would be

Florida's north of the equator and it's still hot there.

We've never known a "white Christmas" so its not really weird at all. Though I'd love to try winter with snow and not soaring heat.

It's not weird. I live 7degrees north of the equator and it's literally summer all year-round.

It's actually great. My family and I go to the beach every christmas. We have loads of regional parks in NZ and we go to one near where I live and have a barbeque, go swimming, play games like volleyball and soccer, it's absolutely the best. I hate winter, so I hated having christmas in winter when you're too cold to really do anything.

My family does the same things on Christmas (though we're Australian). Having Christmas during Summer is awesome. =]

Having Christmas in Winter would be weird, it would be too cold to do anything, but when it's in Summer, you can do lots. I think having Christmas in Winter would be weird, because that's not what I'm used to, and you think that having Christmas in Summer would be weird because that's not what you're used to.

It's really weird to think that the summer and winter months are different for each hemisphere. Same goes for fall and spring I guess.
