+230 The problem with American politics is that each side spends too much time blaming the other side for the country's problems. Republicans and Democrats should try working together instead of against each other, amirite?

I'm pretty sure that them being against eachother is the whole point of them being seperate and making people choose one to vote for.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean they should strive to be complete and utter opposites - like, Australian politics is similar, with Liberal and Labour just disagreeing with what the other party is saying, and if one party supports something, the next day the other party will oppose it. Frankly, it's just childish - the whole point of politics is to make things better for your country not for your side to "win" all the time - it doesn't mean being the best of chums, but it does mean that there are some things that all political parties should collaborate for in the interests of their country and citizens.

And what happened in Australia is that we had a hung government (LOL!) which means we had no party in place for a couples months after the election, because the voters got fed up with the two main parties, and too many people voted independents.
