It's perfectly okay to break up with someone via text message, amirite?
by Anonymous11 years ago
I feel like this should be case by case. I, personally, would rather get broken up through text so I can get my thoughts together. If I was going to break up with someone I would send them a text to hint that I want to break up and then ask them to have a talk with me.

No. Man/woman up and do it in person. At least over the phone. AT LEAST.

Women up? Really? Is the political correctness really THAT necessary?

I think it's more so to try and push away the whole "guys always ask out" and such related cliches away.

it's perfectly okay to be a pussy, amirite

The only non-douchebaggish circumstance I can think of for this is if the relationship was abusive or something and it wouldn't be safe/smart to do it in person.
But other than that it's kind of a dick move.

I once broke up with a girl and had to drive her home. She cried the whole way. Never again.

My sister broke up with her boyfriend while at her friend's cottage. Then drive him the 4-5 hours home. I think it was also awkward. Still better than text.

The awkwardness probably manifested in the form of thick fog..

If you went out on like one date with someone and hardly knew them, I don't think that deciding not to see them via text is terrible. If you're actually dating them, just give them a call.

If you went on one date, I don't think it'd really be breaking up with them haha. But I agree with what you're saying.

Yeah. Also, to clarify, I think that if you're actually dating someone and want to break up, you should in the very least call them.

It depends on the circumstance. My friend's parents stopped letting her see her boyfriend so that was the only way she could end things. As he didn't have a real phone with talk time and she wasn'y permitted to see him
