That's completely unfair. Not all physical workers are lazy. I know it's not road work, but I worked in a lumber warehouse and we definitely put in a solid effort each and every day and I can only assume it's the same way for road work.

They're getting paid by the state. Go figure. My dad paves driveways for a living and we always joke that the "state boys" need one guy in the hole digging and 4 other guys looking down telling him how to do it.

I used to actually work for the city doing roadwork, and let me tell you, there was a LOT of downtime. That being said, when we actually were working, we hauled ass.
