+281 Although I listen to Taylor Swift's songs as much as the next girl, I ask: Why does everyone see Taylor Swift as an independent young woman if all of her songs are about guys, amirite?

Who sees her as an independant young woman?

but most songs sung by girls are about guys, regardless of if they are independent or not

My point is just that why do songs always have to be about love when there is much more important things to sing about! Or at least more interesting, because love is basically the center of the media now. A truly independent woman that should be really admired doesn't have to be famous from her constants wails about how some guy broke her heart, or how she wishes life was a fairytale.

Some people often write about their life experiences.

True. But enough is enough. I guess it's just a personal opinion.

But at the same time, a lot of people like her because they can relate to the songs that she writes. So if she writes about something else, not as many people could relate. I know for me personally, one of the main reasons I listen to her songs are because of the lyrics.

most but not all... "fifteen" isn't.

not because of her music, but because of herself. Miley, Jonas, Lovato have Disney to pay for their careers, and a bunch of songwriters. Taylor begged her MOM to go to nashville, and writes her own songs, regardless of what they're about, they're nicely written.

well her songs reflect her personality

Believe it or not but being a romantic doesn't take away from a woman's independence.

You're wrong. Her songs portray her as not only a romantic, which is fine, but as a dependent, love-obsessed cry baby.
