My brother has type 1 and he loves to make fun of that commercial by saying DIABEETUS. And I wouldn't call it the biggest part of his life. Wording it like that makes it seem like it controls you and it really doesn't have to change anything about the person who has it if it's taken care of properly, except mildly changing their diet. And food doesn't make you who you are, IMO.
I'm not trying to say that is doesn't annoy you, that's your personal opinion. This is just my take on the post.
I know I don't have to deal with the worst. Doesn't mean that a certain pronunciation of a word that describes the largest part of my life doesn't annoy me. I'm allowed to have an opinion.
I make fun of how it's said, but it does still annoy me sometimes. When people say Diabeetus its like saying diabetes can beat me, but it can't because I'm stronger than that. It's caused me to have seizures, but I've gotten through them. It may one day cause my legs to be amputated because i cant get proper circulation, it may cause me to go blind and need someone to take care of me because i can't take care of myself, or it may even cause me to die because I can't recover from a coma, but until then I'm going to take the best care of me that I can even if it means ten shots a day and making myself bleed just as often. I do understand that people have it worse than me. Many people do, and many people have it worse off than you. That fact that you are getting annoyed at my simple opinion just proves yourself a hypocrite to your own words. People have it worse off then you. Try not to be annoyed by such mundane things.
Why would you be complaining if you are not annoyed nor aggravated? And i don't need sympathy. It's something I live with every day. It's simply a part of my life that I have accepted.
Lol. You are funny :)
That was very funny. :D
my friend who has diabetes just calls it "the betes," like "my leg hurts. it's gotta be the betes!"
DIABEETUS.
I've never even heard that before.

I'M WILFORD BRIMLY, AND I'M HERE TO DIABEETUS
People with problems far worse have dealt with far worse. Suck it up.

cool
Try not to let it bother you, what's the point.
Ok let it bother you, I don't care. Let yourself be annoyed by the most mundane things, I'm sure you'll have a happy life.

Where do you get the idea I'm annoyed? Suck it up. You made me lose any sympathy I had for your type.

Me? Complaining? I'm not the one with a paragraph long rant.
