American Football makes American Football look like a pussy sport, amirite?

Because they don't wear pads I suppose, is why you think that way? Football players wear them because if they didn't, no one's career would last. They get enough injuries WITH the pads as it is. Without them, it would be impossible to stay healthy.

You sound like you don't know the first thing about American Football. Football is just as much physical as it is strategy. Tackling is a tedious thing. Seems to me like you don't understand it. If you do, you put up the worst argument against it I've ever heard.

Yeah it's physical, but rugby is more physical. My observation was based on the comparison between the two that made pads a necessity in Football. Sure tackling is tedious, much in the same way that running with the ball is tedious and throwing it would be and having to do things in a sport to win. Too be clear, I think football is a good sport, but the pads make people feel invincible and do stupid things. If you look at rugby, you can see they're really not necessary.

im american ive lived in america all my life i know all about american football. rugby players get hurt more but they suck it up and its been proven that hits in fugby games are as severe as getting hit by a car going 50 mph and football with pads was a car going 25

I wasn't speaking toward you with that comment about not knowing about football. You just proved my point. Rugby players get hurt more. Football players wear the pads so that they can sustain long careers and minimize injuries. The reason the hits in football aren't as hard, if that's even true, is because there's no need to knock your opponent out. You just need to get them down and stop the play. Plus they're cracking down on hard hits for that reason: there's no need for hits that take the wind out of a guy.

i know i just thought id say my opinion not supporting either of you just saying the facts. they knock people out cuz they find it fun and thats like half the point of the game. football players just claim to be soooo much tougher than anyone else except theyre not and rugby is one example why

As someone who plays rugby, i agree. I get knocks and bruises every match but if I had all this padding on I'll be fine. In rucks, it is very disorganized so it's very easy to step on someone. In addition, in rugby I've had matches where it takes 5 people to tackle one person. In american football, tackles are a lot easier to make.In addition, rugby players don't switch their players every 15 seconds because they get out of breath.
