+539 One of the most annoying things that a movie based on a book can do is quote the book, but have the wrong character say the line, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The Harry Potter films did this a lot, usually by giving Hermione other character's lines.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

By other characters, you mean Ron, right? I love Hermione and Emma Watson, but she already has her own great lines, just stop giving all of ron's amazing and deep quotes to her and leaving only his funny lines to him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It isn't just Ron/Hermione they did it to, the Neville /Dobby Gillyweed thing annoyed me more. Plus, it wasn't Emma Watson's fault that she got the lines.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah but the reason why they did the Neville/Dobby gillyweed and room of requirement thing was because they never put Dobby in those movies anyways, and that annoyed me too, but Ron was RIGHT THERE next to them, he could've said it. Like in the 6th movie at the end, all Ron did was sit there while Harry and Hermione talked, while in the book, Ron was the one who suggested to go with Harry anywhere and help him and told him to wait till after the wedding. And when did I ever say it's Emma Watson's fault? It isn't, it's the screenplay writer and producer and stuff.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

In all fairness he did say about the wedding in the 7th film, i know it was late but he got the line eventually. I guess they must have had a reason for giving them to Emma instead. It's just another in the long list of things annoying about the movies.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

LOL but he obviously also mentioned the wedding in the 7th book, so that has nothing to do with his line at the end of the 6th book :P And I think it's cause Steve something, the screen play writer,'s favorite character is Hermione. I read about that once. And ironically, JK Rowling thought he was going to say Ron lol

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think the directors just jumped on the popularity of Emma and used it to their advantage. I think the kiss was a bit more annoying than the line changes anyway.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nah I don't think so. Emma is probably popular because of that lol :P But I love Emma Watson so much, she is amazing, anyone else would've abused this popularity. Lol which kiss?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She has been the most popular member of the cast since POA, I personally didn't mind seeing more of her on screen lol. Hers with Ron, the timing of it was awful.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

LOL I suppose they mixed places between Harry and ginny's first kiss in the movies. They were supposed to kiss in the room of requirement, but Harry and Ginny kissed there in HBP instead which made me even much more annoyed than Ron and Hermione's kiss in the chamber.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I mean ron and hermione switched places with Harry and Ginny, though Harry and Ginny didn't kiss in the chamber in the book

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Actually they were supposed to kiss outside of the ROR. The whole Ron and Hermione thing in HBP was laid on a bit thick too. There was just no need for them to kiss in the COS, Hermione's reason for flinging herself at him was because of his elf comment, which again they shouldn't have omitted.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah you're right. But I'm glad that they showed us what happened in the chamber. Yeah and it sucks that they didn't show us the elves :( I was really looking forward to seeing kreacher run and say his line

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Definitely, chopping at some death eaters leg with a meat cleaver. It's nice to finally get to vent frustrations about the films, whoever i've seen any of them with just get annoyed with me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know right? I was literally laughing and crying when in read kreacher say that in the book; lol yeah crazy I know :P It's okay, vent! Lol it is nice, if I talk about these stuff with someone I know they just won't give a fuck. LOL but I do talk about it with my brother :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My sister has only watched the films (i think she may have read DH before part 1 came out) so she gets stressed with me because she likes them. I guess it doesn't matter anymore because there will be no more films. I doubt i'll watch them again too often, but i'll keep rereading the books - i've lost count how many times i've read them now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

LOL I like how we made up a conversation from an argument. Oh haha yeah, but if she reads the books she'll know that they're way better than the movies, even though the movies are really good too. Nah I think I'm going to still watch them a lot lol, and reread the books too of course, but cause the movie is only for 2 hours but books take more time to read.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

i think i'll only watch them when my niece and nephew are old enough to appreciate them, but i'll read them the books first.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How old are they now

by Anonymous 12 years ago

5 and coming up 2.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh they're still small lol

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah i know, don't mind waiting though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, pretty much. It's a pet peeve of mine, especially when Hermione was given exposition about Wizarding society.....but she grew up Muggle. *shrug*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah I know, like how she knew what mudblood means and started explaining it to Harry. Like okay she knows everything about each book, but doesn't mean she has to know what that means too; Ron could've explained it in the movie like how he did in the book (it was him who explained it, not hagrid, right?)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How would she even know the term "mudblood"? I kind of doubt the textbooks she'd read contained slurs like that. And yes, Ron explained that and a lot of other things in the book, seeing as he grew up a pureblood wizard.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah you're right, it's silly.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I also noticed this, they gave her a lot of Ron's lines.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah I noticed once or twice she was given a line I'm pretty sure dumbledore was supposed to have.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, like how in Deathly Hallows Part I they skipped Kreacher's whole scene. While I was reading the book, I started to LOVE him, and then they make him seem terrible in the movies... But I love Kreacher. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I love kreacher too, he was so brave and loyal :( even though he was part of the reason why Sirius died, but I forgive him.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

DEFINITELY! During the part II of the second one, I was like, "No, Hermione- HARRY thinks of the mad idea to use the dragon to get out of Gringotts." :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ah, but the Gringotts scene actually gave Ron more lines (OK, a word lol), as he got to use the Imperius curse, whereas Harry did it both times in the book.

The Clique.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The books are really funny and cute. The movie is terrible. They took away all the meaning of it.
