+747 Imagine if you could live a different person's life every day for a week. For example, one day you'd live a day in the life of an Olympic gold medalist, the day after in the life of a researcher in Antarctica, after that a day in the life of a child living through poverty in Africa, then a day in the life of a billionaire, etc. It would really put your own life in perspective, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I would want to choose the lives, though.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Then you wouldn't have the experience of the things you don't want, and you wouldn't be able to compare yourself...

I think it would be worth it to live a day of //any// life. Even if it it was the life of a prostitute or a starving kid in Africa, you'd only have to put up with it for 24 hours, so if you didn't like it, you'd know you were moving on in a few hours and would have something to look forward to. A lot of lives are horrible simply because you know that tomorrow won't be any different from today. And think of how fascinating, new, and exciting it would be to live in //any// different life for a day, even the "bad" ones.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@Ram That sort of entirely defeats the point.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I would choose to live a life that is generally considered undesirable. Probably more so than a desirable one. It would teach me a lot and it'd be easier to be grateful for the life I do live.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think many of us would find that our lives truly are average.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Average in the average way or average in the "I saw an old guy dressed like harry potter fighting a dinosaur ninja while making fun of twilight" way.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Average in the average way.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

In Aneeica, sure. But in the world, no way. Average throughout the world is not our lives. We have luxuries like air conditioning, computers, shopping sprees, that most people in the world don't have. I think we'd find ourselves to not be average, but extremely blessed.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well said.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Reminds me of that show quantum leap. Good show.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think that for that to work, you would only be able to live lives of people who have a harder life than yourself. It would be particularly helpful to all of the billionaires out there.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The goal isn't to be like, "Shit, my life is amazing!" the goal is to see what it's like in many other situations other than your own life, and see the positives and negatives of them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What I'm getting from this post is I'm not allowed to complain about my life because some people have it better and some are worse off. Anyone else get that?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Partly... not the 'not allowed to complain' part. But yes, I mainly get 'some people have it better and some are worse off'...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's a good point, but I didn't mean that we can't complain or even boast about our lives. It would just be a way to experience life from different point of views and to see things happen in ways you normally wouldn't, if that makes sense. Those experiences would help you in your own life and put it in perspective.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think I'd rather make my life super awesome and make others wish they had my life.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wait, so do you switch or...? Because what if they mess up something really important in your life that week?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, you'd get to experience a different's person's life each day for a week. And if this were actually possible, then it'd be better not to plan anything in that week :P i was just thinking it would be cool if we could actually experience this.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How about after that week everything goes back to how it was and only those who switched have any recollection of the events?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, that could work!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Thanks! I thought so.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I was really thinking that this would have a funny twisted ending.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

that would suck if you switched into the body of a cancer patient and died :|

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Except would you even have an "own life" if you were living every week as a different person?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, it is just everyday for one week.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My bad. I misread the post as "a different person's life every week".

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Kinda reminds me of this: http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/An_Egg

by Anonymous 11 years ago

YES, I knew this post sounded familiar.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

so what would happen to your own original form? does it just live its life by itself without you in it?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

hmm i didn't think of that. but i guess like Celestialjess said, you'd just switch bodies with the other person. then again, it's just a hypothetical post :P

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I would not want to switch bodies with someone like Micheal Phelps. I can not swim well so it would most likely tarnish their career.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'd be like "Wow, I'm average as fuck."

by Anonymous 11 years ago

i think even switching lives with someone who isn't living an extremity would still give you a new perspective

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think you should choose six or the lives, and have one really horrible one for the remaining day. Or else, some people might get all the crappy (as in quality, not worth) lives and some people might get all the good ones. Although some people might pick some hot actress, take nude photos and send them to themselves...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I say this is the week: ( i took some of your ideas) DAY 1: Starving child in Africa DAY 2: Billionaire DAY 3: Someone who is very deformed physically DAY 4: Someone who is stunningly attractive DAY 5: Someone who is lonely and lacks friends DAY 6: Someone who is extremely congenial and has alot of friends DAY 7: Someone battling a painful terminal illness I think itd put things in perspective, but it doesnt show you that you have a better life than everyone.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's a perfect schedule. I mean, they're the types of lives we hear about every day but we never really know what it'd feel like to be in those positions unless we actually experience them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I would switch lives with a male pornstar to see who gets more pleasure during sex.
