+210 It sort of kills you inside when you see someone who has a similar worldview as you (christian, atheist, republican, pro-choice) say something completely close-minded and ignorant. You want to tell them they're wrong, but at the same time you kinda feel like you're betraying that group of people. amirite?

People are complex and have their own opinions and thoughts. Don't try to be a part of something, you should have your own opinions.

It isn't a feeling of wanting to tell them off, but it sucks when you see an Internet debate, and the people on the side you agree with are being total arseholes about it - ie, calling the other people names, hell on Tumblr I've even seen death and violence threats, etc., whereas the people arguing the side you don't agree with are being calm and reasonable. You almost feel like apologising for the arseholes.

Thinking they are "closed-minded" because their opinions don't align with yours is closed-minded.

let's not be technical, my point is a lot broader than actual, like, beliefs within beliefs. I'm talking about extremists who, as mentioned above, result to personal attacks or something that makes them sound immature, or people that just reinforce stigmas.
