+75 You triple check your spelling and grammar when you're posting on amirite so you don't seem dumb to complete strangers who you will most likely never meet. However, when you're typing to your friends on facebook whom you see on a daily basis you type "hey bro your comin ovre latr rite" amirite?

I don't call my friends bro. I spell correctly and if i don't i correct it. I see my friends 5/7 days. We barely go over to each other's houses.

This post is a slight hyperbole for the purpose of clarification.

You really took this post literally, word for word.

Ehh sorta. Scratch the bro... It would be more like "hey your coming over later right?" I still spell things right, but I don't bother with apostrophes or your/you're, but I still use their theyre and there, and two to and too, and ending punctuation.

I don't understand, why do you use all the other things except your and you're?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I try to always use good grammar.. Even when texting.

Actually me and my friends generally laugh at each other if we make a mistake. Like if I say you're instead of your, they'll respond back "you are backpack? What? Haha." Though if it's something like spelling beautiful or apostrophe or some other easy misspelled word, we won't really care because we know what they meant.

not that bad, but yeah, I do pay less attention my friends know I'm an intelligent human being capable of spelling correctly and using the right grammatical rules though I also am kinda sloppy sometimes when talking to people I only know on the internet XD it just really depends

Well, on the internet, the only thing people can judge you on is the content of the post and your grammar. You've got to make them immaculate to be received well. But in real life, people know the other sides of you. They know if you're really funny, or can sing well, or you're really nice, or maybe you're just attractive and they want to sleep with you. So when you're communicating with them, they know what kind of content to expect and grammar isn't an issue because they know you //can// spell when it counts. Isolated mistakes on the internet look like you always mess up like that.
