Compared to songs from the 60's/70's no, but I think OP means it would be considered "old news" compared to one that just came out.

But music has been around way longer than any one person had been alive, so it seems like kids should seem younger than music, relativity speaking.

Yeah, but we're talking about popular music, most likely music that's had a rotation in the charts, and then been forgotten. But you are right, music has been around forever, and recorded music has been around for hundreds of years.
