But sometimes it seems really rude to do this! My whole family sings off-key at birthday parties. It really bugs me.

It's different if they're doing it on purpose...that's in a comical way. If they're doing it without noticing, that's when it feels right to do so.

Yeah, I guess. Sometimes it doesn't help. Some people are really tone deaf, and off-key singing bothers me depending on how severe it is.

That's why I play guitar instead of sing, I'm too tone deaf. Although I can tell if a guitar is tuned correctly.

Usually when people are singing extremely off key they're usually joking or tone deaf. I think that would be very mean to do if they were tone deaf, not that they'd notice, but everyone else would.

Not if you're doing it in a joking manner, which is how i intended it, mostly. but also mostly cause some people think they can sing really well, and are oblivious to how bad they actually are...

If you seriously took offense to it, than i wouldn't do it. Some people shouldn't be so sensitive and should learn to laugh at themselves more.

The thing is, if they are tone deaf, everybody knows you are doing it except them. So they're not gonna be able to tell you.

But im sure i'd be able to tell on my own through common sense if it were bothering them. You don't have to hear a certain way to tell whether something is bothering you, it's all in body language. Different cases for different faces.

They are tone deaf, if you don't know what that means, it means that they will not notice themselves singing off key and you singing on key, thus it could not bother them, however everybody else would assume you were making fun of them and probably be having a good laugh about it (I would) which is an extremely rude thing to do.

Oh duh! Sorry i had a brainfart! haha. I completely forgot that part about me singing over them for a minute...that's what i get for multi-tasking. My bad. I agree that would be rude. And i would most likely just feel like an asshole about it, but that wouldn't stop everyone.
