This is going to be a very unpopular mindset but whatever... These people are in the business of entertainment: they are providing a product. What people want to hear right now is autotuned songs about clubs. A few years ago, it was alternative songs. Maybe one day, people will want to hear "poetic" songs from a brooding band that sings about trees because they are a metaphor for growth. So, what I am trying to say in my horribly worded comment is... who gives a flying fuck about what is popular right now? As long as your favorite bands are still making music, then keep listening to them. What's popular at one moment will always fall out of style sooner or later. For the record, I listen to J-POP... just in case you thought I was some Ke$ha fangirl.

I agree with you. It doesn't matter if they can or cannot sing, because autotune is how it's done in that style of music. In the words of sandbox, which I will repeat, "because it's the entertainment industry, not the strong skillset industry."
