Also about band-aid
+364You call all adhesive bandages band-aids even though Band-Aid is a brand name, amirite?
when did we start eating band-aids?
If it's Band-Aid, it's possible!
I think OP just meant any kind of product, but said food because most of what he listed was food.
OP simply could have said products and we still would have understood.
I know, but I think they accidentally did it. Sorry for being unclear.
Looks like I've been using my bandages wrong.
Idiot.
Mmm. Band-Aids are my favorite snack.
I had no idea popsicle was a brand name..
Yeah, same here.
I once asked my cousin to pass me a Kleenex, and she didn't know what I meant.
Well Kleenex is the brand name. The actual name is tissue.
Popsicle is the name of the actual product. Frank Epperson named them popsicles after his children suggested he change it from "Emerson ice pops". While yes, Popsicle IS a brand name, it is also the product name.
His children? Wasn't he a child when he invented them?
He was 11 when he accidentally invented them, yes, but he was in his late twenties when he patented them.
Ah, I didn't realize he waited so long.
I call them plasters, jelly, and ice lollies
Those are all brand names. Like the real word for jell-o is gelatin. Band-aid would be bandage.
Actually it would be adhesive bandage. A regular bandage would be like gauze.
Plasters, jelly, ice blocks.
