Yeah one penguin has a point... I mean think about it, if one politician is trying to help the country, then the next one tries to outdo him, then he's going to improve the country even more, competition helps a lot of people achieve. That's why you have a two party system, because a one party system would lead to total dictatorship, without each party pointing out the others flaws, one party would get out of control, such is the nature of people

So you're saying a two party system is good? Wow, here we have, ladies and gentlemen, the typical Americunt who's never seen or heard of an election outside of their own country. Go educate yourself.

Why couldn't he/she use America as an example when that's what he/she knows best about? Plus, they only started talking about the American system in the second half. The first half could apply to many cultures.

Okay... too bad I lived in three different countries outside of U.S... and my parents speak at least 4 languages.... You're going to tell me one party system doesn't lead to dictatorship? Hmm, let's look at communist parties, how great are they? They're so amazing, suppressing the people, killing anyone who stands up to them, starving the country and sucking all it's natural resources while they get fat and rich. Oh let's not forget monarchys, they worked out so great didn't they? That's why everyone revolted. It was just too good. The French, the Russians, and all those countries, just had it too good. Oh and yes I do like America, actually I freaking love it and if the rest of the world doesn't like America, then why are they trying to copy them? The French have revised their constitution many times to try to make it more like Americas, the Japanese also copied, there are so many countries out there that want to make their country more like America. How many developed countries do you know that was started merely 300 somewhat years ago?

You're missing the whole point, hell, you never even mentioned it in that text wall. I am saying that a two party system is shit. A one party system is worse, yes, when did I say it was better? I'm saying that U.S. politics are shit and unfair to the popular votes, as can be seen in the 2000 elections, where Gore should've won, in 1992 and 1996 Ross Perot should have had some representation in the senate or house of representatives, but because of the electoral college voting system, they never did. Then you go to 2008, where the U.S. has two options: right-wing black guy or right-wing white guy. It's exactly the same, they're both the same. Americans have no freedom in politics, it's either A or B, where roughly A = B.

I didn't mention it, because nobody asked me to mention it... I mentioned one party, because according to op it seems as though that's what s/he is favouring (because it seems as though s/he is opposing competition) Hmm, let's look at why Gore didn't win in 2000. You think it's because there weren't enough options? The reason Gore didn't win is because there were to many options. He would have won by a landslide, had one of the candidates decided to run as an independent. I forget his name, but this guy ended up stealing some of Gore's votes. And this is something that has happened several times over. When there are too many candidates, the voters are split between the good ones and the bad one ends up winning, because of that. And don't compare Obama to McCain, Obama alone in his first year helped reduce the job loss by so much AND the new healthcare plan wouldn't have been passed if McCain was in power

I have a strong desire to punch every average citizen and then yell at them "IT'S NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK. THINK FOR A MINUTE ON WHAT MANY POLITICIANS DO BEHIND THE NEWS CAMERAS".
