+179 In the past we call it miracles, now we call it science, amirite?

We still call miracles miracles and they still called science science....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, but there are way fewer "miracles" now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What do you mean? Because there is more "technology" now? That means there was a lot less "technology" back then too. If you take a neanderthal and show him the world today, then he'll think there's a lot of miracles now, however if you study him/her relative to their own time period, then there was a lot less science meaning that it wasn't due to science that the "miracles" happened.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say. I just mean that today, there are a lot less things that we call miracles, because we know the real explanations.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, but there are a lot more things now that are miraculous than before, due to the technology. Back then since technology wasn't as advanced, they wouldn't have as many things they would think are miracles

I disagree. A miracle is something caused by God, right? We know technology is our own doing, not God's. A long time ago, they thought epilepsy was divine intervention. Today we know it is an illness.

You completely missed my point, I'm saying that science and technology develops with time... the only time technology will seem miraculous is if today's tech went back in time to the past.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not saying technology is miraculous. I'm saying technology has made less and less things look like miracles.

Enough with this argument, I don't have enough time to explain to you my higher level of logicness

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This begs the question of what people a 1000 years from now will think of our science.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Holy crap, magic!!!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Indubitability.
