-196 Cutting down the rainforest isn't bad--it's like giving the Earth a haircut, and hair grows back, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, only Earth's hair takes about 300 times longer to grow back. A 20 foot tree probably took about 50 years to grow. And plus, Earth's hair is essential to the life of everything else. Our hair doesn't give us oxygen.

But a tree gives us a lot more than a hair can.

What???

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A tree is much, much bigger than a hair and therefore needs more resources.

What about all the organisms who live in the rainforest?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly, I know. Trees are more important than hair and much more valuable. So don't compare them at all.

The rainforest supports many living organisms. I hope for your sake that your hair does not.

Not if they put industry in place of it.

It takes a long time to grow back. We need it. And I don't know about you guys, but I love trees and plants and flowers. They're beautiful. If I had a million dollars, I'd use at least half of it to plant more trees.

Not if you cut it faster than it grows, and then kill the follicles too.

If I shave my head, it will grow back because I am a living organism. If you cut down all the rainforests, they won't just naturally grow back where they used to be.

Are you serious??
