+255 Politicians should read this site, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because there are a fair amount of good political ideas here.

but the political ideas on this website for the most part come from only one side of the political spectrum. maybe for liberal politicians, but I personally wouldn't want the politicians I support to take ideas from this site. though I really don't think it's too great of an idea for politicians to take political advice from a bunch of teens on the internet.

I would assume that only about 10% of the people on this website can vote. So it wouldn't be very beneficial for politicians to read this site.

The politicians don't know that. Just because we're under 18 doesn't mean we don't have an opinion.

I think it's pretty obvious that frequenters of this site are mostly teenagers. though it does mean that your opinion is probably not as well thought out as someone with more life experience.

I have no life, so I basically sit around and think about this stuff a lot. I'm not even kidding. Anyway, they should at least read our opinions to see if they're logical.

(personThingy):if you want them to hear your opinions then write them. Most of them are much to busy to worry about a political discussion on amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What do you mean "write them?" My opinions could not fill an entire book, especially considering only a few (if any) of them are distinct enough to be published. And why would they rather buy and read a book than look at a few flame wars on the internet?

He meant write a letter to the politician.

Like I said, most of my opinions aren't distinct enough to write down. If everyone mailed their political views to the government, they wouldn't have time to pass laws because they'd spend all their time opening mail. Anyway, I'm Canadian, and my country is already pro-choice and pro-gay. I think it's disgusting that some places still aren't, but it would be sort of inappropriate for a Canadian to be complaining to the government of the United States.

Hmm didn't know Canada was pro-choice and pro-gay. Good for you!

yeah I meant write a letter or an email, or even call their office. your politician probably won't read it personally but their staff will surely notify them of it.

I remember reading a post a while back about politicians having debates through amirite. I wish I could find it now!
